All India Conference of Chief Commissioners of Central Excise was held on 30th and 31st October, 2009 at Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya. 26 delegates comprising of the Member(CX), the Director General (Inspection), 12 Chief Commissioners of different zones and representative from Board, DG(Audit), DG(Inspection) & DG(Systems) gathered in the conference hall of Hotel Ri-Kynjai which stands by the side of picturesque Umiam lake about 12 Kms. from the city. In the backdrop of enchanting view of the lake and the surrounding hills 17 Technical issues and other General issues were taken up for threadbare discussion and the fruitful deliberations that followed amid conspicuous exuberance would be a memorable episode for each of the participants. No doubt, the decision made during the conference would contribute tremendously to the growth of Central Excise revenue.
